Why Disneyland??? 5 Reasons to Take That Disneyland Trip!

We are CONSTANTLY asked (yes, by our husbands even) WHY do we love Disneyland so much? There are a lot of arguments against Disneyland: it costs too much (tickets, food, special events, souvenirs), there are too many people, it's too hot, too cold, too far away, etc. etc. BUT guess what...WE DON'T CARE!

We seriously love Disneyland! Yes, a lot of those arguments against Disneyland are true. It is expensive, it's often crowded, and the thought of spending $30 for a pair of Mickey ears goes against every fiber in our being...HOWEVER to us, there is a magic at Disneyland that makes all those arguments seem week and unimportant. Who needs to send their kids to college? We had to pay for our own college, they can too!

Disneyland is our happy place. Just walking through the gates, hearing the music, smelling the sweet smells, seeing the beautiful castle rising up as you walk down Main Street USA...(sigh) can't be described as anything short of magic! It legit almost makes us want to cry every time we walk into Disneyland! Even if it's cold and rainy...

So, if you've been debating about taking a trip to Disneyland, here are our top 5 reasons to take that trip!

1. The DETAILS! Disneyland is magical for a reason! The amount of work and detail that goes into EVERY ride, land, restaurant, or store is, in our opinion, unrivaled. When you enter Tomorrowland, you really do feel like you've entered a futuristic society. When you cross through the castle into Fantasyland, you feel like you just walked into your favorite fairy tale. When you ride Indiana Jones you just hope you and Indy are able to make it through the adventure and forget that the giant rock won't actually squish you! Next time you walk through the parks, take a minute to REALLY look around you and just see what tiny details you can find...like the hidden Mickey's!

2. THE FOOD! We swear, everything you eat in Disneyland is sprinkled in magic! Now, we know that you'll definitely feel like you're burning a significant hole in your wallet that might never recover BUT we promise the food is worth not being able to afford to go out again for several months lol. There is dining for all budgets and you can spend as much or as little as you want really since Disneyland allows you to bring in your own food; however, we strongly suggest you experience some of the magical culinary delights that your taste buds will thank you for!

3. Disneyland was made for families! Where else in the world can you really find good, clean fun for the entire family? You're kids will love the magic of all their favorite characters and stories come to life! It's a place where your adult self can find the child within and just enjoy yourself! With that in mind, only YOU can make sure that YOU have a good time! Disneyland is what you make it. If you want to be grumpy about the crowds, the prices, your children...odds are you won't have a great trip. On the other hand, if you go with the intent of enjoying yourself, accepting that there will be lines and you will pay double the price of a cheeseburger that you would normally pay, and just roll with it, we promise you will have a great time!

Disneyland is amazing in that you don't have to be a kid to enjoy it! Heck, you don't even need your kids with you to enjoy it! ANY kind of family can enjoy a trip to Disneyland. Taking your kids to Disneyland can be a wonderful experience; seeing the magic through their eyes is very special! However, Disneyland is also great WITHOUT your kids! We got to go to Disneyland to celebrate our 30th birthdays (since we both turned 30 in 2019) all alone, with no spouses, no kids, and it was truly epic!

4. Cast members (employees) are SUPER friendly! You'll not find anywhere else in the world with happier employees. We have yet to meet a grumpy Disneyland cast member. They are always smiling, always willing to help, and always seem just as happy to be there as you are! Little tip, be nice to the cast members! If you are nice to them, they'll be nice to you! You might even get a reward for your kindness.

So quick story from Sarah about an awesome cast member! When my family went to Disneyland at the beginning of this month (Nov. 2019) I completely spaced getting a fast pass for World of Color in the morning, so by the time I remembered they were all out. I found a cast member at an information booth and asked her where she thought the best place to see World of Color would be without a fast pass. She gave me a few suggestions, then I walked over to my stroller nearby where I met up with my husband and went on The Incredicoaster (child swap). When I came back, the same cast member waved me over and said that she just thought we were just such a sweet family and took our tickets and gave us fast passes! Turned out she was from Centerville, Ut. which is only 20 or so minutes from where we live! The cast members at Disneyland exceptional!

5. The shows! Disneyland does an AMAZING job with all of their shows! World of Color, Fantasmic, EVERY firework show, Mickey and the Magical Map, Frozen-Live at the Hyperion, or pretty much ANY show you see is ABSOLUTELY worth your time and will blow you away! Last time we left DCA (Disney's California Adventure) after World of Color, I was telling my children how amazing it was and my daughter replied, "Yeah, I maybe cried a little."

Well there you have it, our top FIVE reasons that you should definitely consider Disneyland as your next vacation! Open your heart to the magic and you'll definitely have an experience that you'll remember for a lifetime!
